How to Quickly Plan Your Day Away (2)

How to Quickly Plan a Day Away

Sometimes we just need to get away from the normal routine of life!

I need space to focus on just ME when life feels overwhelming or too repetitive. You too? Looming big decisions or recent significant experiences drive me to find some “me time”. How about you? Seems like we all need a day away from time to time!

With summer right around the corner many of us are itching to travel and take a break from normal life. Unfortunately, multiple-day vacations and retreats aren’t always an option. Most of the time though we CAN find ONE day to get away for rest, rejuvenation and a little “me time”. Just one day is doable and requires minimal planning.

It also includes the various important parts I consider when putting together bigger event (such as retreats, conferences, competitions, weddings, parties, etc.)

weekly refresh

How A Weekly Refresh Creates Resolution Success

January is a season of fresh starts, new goals and high hopes. Many of us resolve to change bad habits, finally accomplish a specific goal, or simply live better lives. Oh, how I love this time of year, so full of promise and motivation!

Sadly though many of us are already suffering from something I call resolution fade…just a few weeks into the new year. Our drive was strong just a few weeks ago! Our hearts were in the right place! We were so confident in our aspirations. What happened? Where did we go wrong?

How quickly the resolve fades.

Because life can get tricky whenever we set out to make improvements, we often find ourselves giving up before seeing success. Challenges we face can make it hard to persevere, our resolve fades, and unless we push through…several times in fact…we are likely to give up on our goals and dreams of being or doing something different. That slow downhill process is what I’m calling Resolution Fade. And, if we don’t fight through when it starts to get difficult, as Jason Selk described in his article about the 21-Day Myth, our motivation wanes and our commitment to our new habits weakens over time.

Somehow we may even start to think we probably just set our goals too high or wonder what made us so confident just a few weeks ago. Eventually the desire is gone, we’ve fully given up, and hope we will have better luck next year.

It doesn’t have to be this way! You don’t have to be a victim of Resolution Fade in 2018! Not under my watch! I want you to be successful going after every goal you set!

The Immediate ROI of One Woman’s Purchase with Purpose

In late September I was exposed to something new…something I’d never really seen before and in a short time one investment has drastically changed the way I do a variety of my business and writing activities. I expected a positive impact from this purchase made with a lot of purpose, but I have been blown away by several immediate benefits of creating a better writing space for myself.

I’ve known for years that sitting still for hours while working is bad for my body and that an exercise ball can be used as an alternative to the classic desk chair. I have a ball like this at home, and I’ve wanted to try it at my desk, but I’d never found a good way to make it stable or tall enough to use as a desk chair.

Through my work with Partners in Diversity, I was recently introduced to ergonomic furniture and Fully, a Partners in Diversity member and retailer of “desks, chairs and things to keep you moving” in downtown Portland. They had my answer for better seating! They also introduced me to sit stand desks, which I’d definitely never experienced before meeting the Fully team. I really wanted to know more about their products so I accepted their invitation to write for a few hours at one of their showroom workstations. I was there for about 2 hours earlier this fall and was instantly hooked!

So what made the draw so strong?
